Morakot Cave: The Miracle of the Nature Destination : Trang Category : Nature & Wildlife
  •  1337 views

Hi there, Sukjai is back! Today I would like to get a hideaway from heat and sweat in a big city. Yeah, I’m thinking about going to the sea. Are you ready? Let’s go!

My destination is in Trang province, in Andaman Sea where you will discover the charming white sand beaches with the clear blue water. Most favourite tourist attractions are all kinds of island, for example; Ngai Island, Kra Dan Island, Chuek Island and Mah Island where you can enjoy snorkeling. The highlight you should not miss is Morakot Cave which is located in Mook Island, Had Chao Mai National Park.

Morakot cave is a hidden treasure waited to be explored. Visitors have to swim to the entrance and discover a big chamber without a ceiling so the sunlight can shed inside this cave. The beauty that the visitors can witness inside the cave is white delicate sand with an emerald colored sea.

The other side of the cave is a white delicate sandy beach with many rare trees. If the weather is nice, the sun will shine through the trees and reflect on white sand. The best time of the day is when there is a highest sea level. It makes you see emerald in the cave more clearly. From 10 am. to 2 pm. is a time with the most suitable sunlight. The high season is from December to early May.

Morakot cave is compared to an emerald of the Andaman Sea. There is also Farang beach waiting for tourists to visit. Here you can also see other nearby islands and watch the sunset.

Wow, that’s incredible don’t you think? What are you waiting for? Let’s go now and I will see you later. :)

  How to get there

Package tour including trip to Koh Muk (Morakot Cave) is available or youmay hire the long-tailed boat from Pak Meng Pier or from Khuantungku Pier to Koh Muk. Also, the passenger ship from Khuantungku Pier to Koh Muk is another choice. The ship will drop tourists off at Yao Bridge, a little bit far from Morakot Cave. Those who prefer to stay overnight at Koh Muk must rent long-tailed boat from Yao Bridge to tour Morakot Cave on the other side of island.

Diving the Adaman Sea

Pristine beaches of Coral Islands

Fantastic, thats what I can describe the Coral Islands. Believe!!Gods themselves may came down to earth to have a great time in the white sand beaches present here. Really good place to hang out and the beaches here may be comparable with the best available in the world to the likes of Hawaii, Havelock (Andamans, India), Kovalam (Kerala, India)etc. On the way to coral island from Pattaya, there are ample opportunities for water sports like para sailing (350 baht), deep sea walking (1200 baht) etc. But one annoying thing during my entire time at Thailand is the high cost of everything and it seems Thailand Govt is giving a free hand to the hospitality sector in fleecing the tourists.

Shopping in Thailand

Before embarking in Thailand, we were given good tips by our Indian Travel Agent to be careful about our handbags/purses as there is widespread incidence of snatching/mugging etc in the streets of Thailand. After getting down in Bangkok, our local guide has given some tips which included the kinds of items that can be purchased during the shopping. We were mainly taken to the Indra Market. But to our dismay we found most of the items were overpriced and many shop keepers were very rude and rowdies. Initially when we were strolling in the lanes of Indra market, we found many Indian families fighting with shop keepers. However, when our turn came to do some bargaining during the shopping, we were disappointed with the quarrelsome attitude of the shop keepers. For example, we tried a soap balloon gun (toy) for my daughter, which was offered for 50 baht. Before purchasing I requested the shop owner (lady) to operate and confirm that the piece is perfect. However, it was found that the piece was defective and even after that she was quarrelling with us forcing us to purchase that defective unit. We went to this market for two days; on second day also we had unpleasant experience with respect to the quarrelsome attitude of shop keepers. My wife was so much annoyed that she has sworn never to shop anything from Thailand hereafter due to these type of bad experience as well as high price of most of the commodities (all the commodities sold in indra market are cheaper in Indian market!!). It is also a matter of concern that Thailand Government is having blind eye in encouraging such practices of shop keepers of Indra market (other wise how these people will fleece tourists). All the tourists may beware of the quarrelsome/forcing tactics of shop keepers of Bangkok. Incidentally, we have to admit that shopping was a pleasurable experience in Singapore and Malaysia compared to the painful shopping experience in Thailand. It is high time that Thailand Governement should act practively so that Tourists are not made scape goats at the hands of unruly shop keepers.
